Chula Tech Hack for Sustainability 2022

Chula Tech Hack for Sustainability 2022
Solving the Global Sustainability with Industry 4.0 Technologies

Date: 8th - 9th December 2022
Venue: Room 801 8th Floor, Chamchuri 10, Chulalongkorn University

Since the Industrial Evolution in the 18th century, mass production of natural resources was made possible at speed and scale. Coupled with the increasing population, the birth of industrial 3.0 has resulted in even more production to support economic growth. However, such mass production has caused rapid loss of natural resources and biodiversity in addition to causing environmental pollution and climate change. As we are now in the Industry 4.0 revolution, when global attention is paid to climate change mitigation and sustainable development, more opportunities can be created using a combination of the nine key technologies of Industry 4.0.

As the world's working hard to achieve the Paris Agreement and the targets of the Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations (SDGs), the Chula Tech Hack for Sustainability 2022 is an international hacking event for students of all disciplines to propose technology solutions to address the problems facing the loss of natural resources, climate change, water and air pollution, poverty, gender equality, aging society, human wellness, biodiversity, urbanization, urban and ocean wastes, energy, and food security. This event will be accompanied by a series of expert talks from academic, private, and government sectors to further train students on applications of Industry 4.0 technologies, sustainability, sustainability startup, technovation for sustainability, and green financing to support the sustainability startup.

Students of the technology for sustainability as well enthusiasts are invited to participate in this hacking event. You will propose or develop the innovative technologies and their applications to address the global sustainability problems and transforming the Industry 4.0 technologies to powerful tools for achieving the global sustainability. Your solutions must involve the use of three or more technologies of the Industry 4.0 and contribute to the achievement of three or more SDGs. Technologies for Industry 4.0 include Internet of Thing (IoT), advanced robotics, artificial intelligence, cloud computing, bid data, augmented reality, virtual reality, additive manufacturing, and cyber security.

Rules
• Students taking the Technology, Globalization, and Sustainable Development course need to participate with your current teams, but you can add more members from outside to your team if needed. All other participants need to form a team of at least 4 to be eligible for participating in the Chula Tech Hack for Sustainability.

• Each solution must involve the use or applications of at least three technologies of the Industry 4.0. Although coding skills are not required for this Hacking Event, having coding skills can make the solutions even more convincing.

• Your solution (s) must contribute to the achievement of the specific targets of three SDGs or more.
