Cross the Line - Free Lectures Made for Designer and Design Lovers
There, Dutch architect Camiel Weijenberg will speak on "Crafting the Traditional Through Design and Dialogue". He has won numerous international awards including the Red Dot Design Award, Platinum A’ Design Award and several others and owns a successful design firm. Taiwanese interior designer Timmy Chou will follow Mr. Weijenberg and ask his audience "Are You Cats or Dogs?". Timmy Chou is the owner of the successful Akuma Group and has sixteen awards in recent years, including the Red Dot Award. To complete the workshop, Australian entrepreneur Annie Ivanova will highlight "The Gift of Community: Empowering Local Design". She is the first and only international curator based out of Taiwan and has worked with leading cultural institutions such as Smithsonian, Centre Pompidou and Ars Electronica.
In addition to the lectures, ADP is also
holding “Cross
the Line – ADP Joint Exhibition” on the same day in Thailand’s
leading contemporary art gallery – Sombat Perpoom Gallery for two weeks. It
features most representative Asian and Western designers from 15 countries and 7
fields of design from Architecture Design, Graphic Design, Interior Design,
Exhibition Design, Product Design, Fashion Design and Stage Design. On May 24th at 10:00
am, the exhibitors from different countries will visit the exhibition and be
interviewed by media in Sombat Perpoom Gallery on the second floor. The
organizer Asia Designer Communication Platform welcomes design lovers and
interested visitor to catch a glimpse of these excellent designers.
