Founder and Festival Director, SINGAPLURAL
An anchor event of Singapore Design Week

Bacus Boo is a design entrepreneur, educator and design-art creator based in Singapore. He is also the founding director of SingaPlural who has spearheaded this multi-faceted design festival to be the anchor event of Singapore Design Week since 2012. In 2016, he was invited by World Design Organization to speak at World Design Capital International Forum in Taipei.

With close to 26 years of cross-industry experience in architecture interior, industrial and product design, Bacus has transited as a cross-disciplinary practitioner to catalyze the intricacies of furniture industry as Head of Design Development Division at the Singapore Furniture Industries Council in 2010. His primary role is to enable enterprises to adopt design innovation and promote business collaboration with designers regionally. During his tenure, he has groomed numerous homegrown and Asian talents to be successful entrepreneurs and promising designers in the global design arena.

Since 2006, he has established a creative ensemble 1degOFF™ design playgroup and curated numerous exhibitions in Milan, New York, Paris, Cologne, Shanghai and Singapore. And now, he is a senior lecturer at Temasek Polytechnic School of Design (Product & Industrial) and also an adjunct tutor at Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts Three-Dimensional Design (Interior & Furniture).
